Northwood fielded a very young side in this Capital League encounter at Dulwich, including just two players aged over 19, and ending with 15 and 16 year olds on the pitch. Lee Holland, having recovered from the injury sustained at Halesowen, was in the starting line-up, along with Bradley Hewitt, who enjoyed another impressive ninety minutes.

The home team also had a youthful look about it, and the game was an entertaining one, despite neither side creating many clear-cut chances.

Dulwich took a 25th minute lead with a goal that appeared to be at least five yards offside, the referee incorrectly judging the ball to have been played by a Woods defender, and Allied Counties keeper Anthony Ladyman had no chance with the finish.

Ten minutes later Hamlet went two up - courtesy of a spectacular own goal: a cross came in to the far post, and Liam O'Keefe unfortunately half-volleyed the ball into the top corner of the net.

But the Woods kept trying to play some decent football, and their efforts were rewarded midway through the second half, when Elliott Buchanan hit a great 12-yard volley past the home keeper to make it 2-1.

The visitors had a couple of chances to level, Harry Hunt seeing a powerful header well saved by the Dulwich keeper, and O'Keefe putting an effort wide.

The win took Dulwich Hamlet to the top of the division, though Woods, in fourth place, trail them by just three points.
